First up : Clover pants muslin

In the new sewing queue, I’m finally getting around to Colette Patterns #1019 – Clover. I’ll be making No. 1, which are ankle length.

I have fancy-schmancy aubergine wool/lycra suiting from Mood Fabrics for this lovely pattern (found here), but as I haven’t made pants in ages, I can’t cut into glorious and expensive fabric until I have the fit right. Time for a muslin! Enter this 3 yard batch of fabric I thrifted at the local Hospice shop for $3. It’s a mid-weight chocolate home decor fabric in a poly/spandex blend.  It has about the same amount of stretch as my real fabric, so it should perform nicely as a muslin. See the stretch!

Pants. I don’t really enjoy pants, but I need a few more pairs in my arsenal. This nice trimly tailored pair will hopefully do the trick.
